Hi, I'm Krista.

I am a licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and it is my passion to support others on their journey of healing, growth and transformation. I believe this is my life purpose and I can't imagine doing anything else with my short time on this planet.

I specialize in helping my clientele to improve their health and lifestyle, to find healing from emotional and physical pain, and to deepen the connection to themselves.

I have extensive training in many different fields, from nutrition, to energy healing, to biomechanics, and bodywork. I specialize in working with individuals who are feeling stuck, depressed, anxious, lost in terms of life direction, new or expecting parents, those who are dealing with chronic pain, and those who feel an overall dissatisfaction with life. What I hope to give all my clients is the support and affirmation that healing is truly possible, and that this phase of their life will not be forever.

I am currently a licensed as an associate, AMFT# 110141, and supervised my Kathleen Dahlen DeVos.

My Story

My commitment to healing and personal growth runs very deep. After a difficult childhood and young adulthood I sought healing, knowing that I wanted and deserved a better life . I spent years reading, learning, studying and deepening my self awareness, trying to look deeper at what was going on for me under my tough exterior. I examined my life, my relationships, my patterns and wanted to understand why the same triggers and lessons kept reappearing in my experience and why it was so hard for me to be happy.

Through this process, I came to the realization that the body unconsciously tries to heal itself from the wounds of the past by drawing in people and experiences that will bring up old triggers and pain. These triggers are the access point, a place where we can look within and see the source of the pain, where the wound first occurred very early in life. It is through working with these traumas and memories that we can release the reoccurring life lessons and relationship patterns that keep us stuck in life. This was the first breakthrough for me that sped up my healing process and ultimately guided me towards healing.

During my own process I learned that if I ate a high nutrient diet, exercised often, and connected with loving people, I felt good and therefore had a strong foundation to begin to grow and change. I began to shift the way I thought about the world and about life. I learned how to hold healthy boundaries in my relationships so that I would be honored and respected. I learned how to communicate how I felt so that I could feel more understood and connected with others. I discovered meditation and began to sit in silence, feel my body and experience what it was like to be truly present and out of my head for the first time in my life. I began to learn how to be more myself in the world and with other people, to take up space, to be acknowledged and be truly seen for who I was. This process and journey has happened over many years for me and is what ultimately guided me to the realization that I wanted to be a therapist.

It has been amazing to watch my clients heal and transform before my eyes, I cannot think of a better or more fulfilling way to spend my life.
